5th Annual MAC Boxing Championships

Reservations still remain for the 5th Annual MAC Boxing Championships on Thursday, Feb. 25. Call to reserve your spot now as this event is close to a sell out. Boxing has a long standing tradition at the Club. In recent years, the popularity of the sport has resurged. Fight fans fill the Missouri Room each February to catch the exciting action. This year’s bouts will not disappoint. Top amateur boxers from around the area will square off in bouts in various weight divisions. Hungry fight fans will feast on a delicious steak dinner and enjoy complimentary cigars. Make your reservations now before you are knocked out.

Food, Fitness and Fun on the 5th Floor
Good Fellowship Day

On Saturday, Feb. 20, the MAC will host its annual Good Fellowship Day Party at the Downtown Clubhouse, a tradition that members have been gathering for since the 1930s. This year’s Good Fellowship Day will feature several athletic competitions as well as free fitness classes. Events will include a closest-to-the-pin contest, rowing, bench press, swimming and basketball. The Pro Shop will also be having a sale. If you are a new member or have never come out for this celebration before, don’t miss out. The MAC encourages you to come out and participate, no matter your fitness level. Battle of the Board to Support the MAC Charitable Society for Children

Get your front row seat for the court battle of the year. On Friday, Feb. 26, members of the MAC Board of Governors will compete in a tennis exhibition at the MAC Charitable Society for Children Battle of the Board. An exhibition game will also be played between Gregg Hammann and Rich Striler and MAC Pros Scott Stutz and Mac McDonald. The fourth annual tennis exhibition will raise money for the 2010 benefiting charities: Friends of Kids with Cancer, Guardian Angel Settlement Association and Good Shepard School for Children. Representatives from the three charities will be on hand to share information and stories about the charities. All members and their guests are welcome to attend. Admission is free. Donations for the 2010 charities will graciously be accepted.

Stogie Club Scotch Tasting

Beat the winter blues with an evening out among friends at the Stogie Club Scotch Tasting on Wednesday, Feb. 10. The evening will include a tasting of several premium scotches. Lavish hors d’oeuvres will also be served. Complimentary cigars will be handed out at registration. The tasting will be held in the Sportsman’s Club at the Downtown Clubhouse. Attention Swimmers...
The Club needs your help to compete in the 2010 NACAD Great Lakes Swim. Clubs from around the country will be competing to see which Club’s members can swim the most yards. The swim begins today, Monday, Feb. 1, and continues through Sunday, Feb. 28. Only Club members may participate. Help show the country that your Club is the best! All swimmers should record their daily yards at the Athletic Desk. If you have any questions, contact Jeff Tuhro at 314-539-4485 or the fitness desk at 314-539-4482. All members are encouraged to participate.
Run for the Board
The MAC Nominating Committee is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Board of Governors election. The MAC would like you to consider or someone you know as a possible Board candidate. Serving on the Board is the most rewarding experience offered here at the Club, and in the end, you'll receive much more than you give. The information packets, which include a letter of intent, biography and photograph, for running for the board are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 22, to Patti Cundiff.

Erin Bode is Back!

Local jazz star and Club favorite Erin Bode will be back in the Jack Buck Grille on Friday, March 26, for another fantastic performance. The special evening will feature a delicious 3-course dinner, extensive wine list and top-of-the-line entertainment beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Erin Bode Group has performed at famous venues in New York, Washington D.C. and Italy. Relax at Noon A new noon session is starting up Monday, Feb. 8, at the Downtown Clubhouse. Yoga can strengthen the body and work muscles that may never have been worked before. This class is not just for women, men can find a tremendous benefit of yoga as well. The 8-week yoga session is held on Mondays and costs $50 for the session or $10 per class. Reservations can be made by calling Rick Schneider at 314-539-4434.

Enjoy a Massage Unwind with a relaxing massage with MAC West Massage Therapist Kirk Jackson. Kirk will now be available for massages on Thursdays from 3:30-8:30 p.m. and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. He is nationally certified through the NCTMB and is state licensed. Kirk specializes in deep tissue massage, but he is also experienced in Swedish, trigger point, prenatal, hot stone and sports massage.


St. Patrick's Brunch Feast on traditional Irish fare at the St. Patrick’s Day Brunch at West and you will leave feeling the luck of the Irish. Not only will you find a pot of gold, but you will enjoy St. Patty's day favorites. The St. Patrick’s Day Brunch will be held on Sunday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost for adults is $20 and children are $12. Call 314-539-4441 for a reservation.
