Membership Athletic Challenge
The quest for supremacy is underway, and the battle to be number one is on! From the swim team of summer to the hoops craze of March Madness, the Missouri Athletic Club proudly invites you to participate in a friendly competition to see which sports discipline (basketball, squash, tennis, racquetball, handball, aquatics/swim team, golf) is number one. From March 1, through June 30, the sports disciplines with the most points will have bragging rights and a trophy placed in the trophy case in the Sportsman’s Club. Points are earned by getting a membership lead or application. A lead is an individual recommended for membership by a current member. Lead cards are provided for ease of execution and will be available at the Front Desk Downtown and in the Pro Shop at West. Leads will be tracked by the membership staff and aligned with the member that has provided the lead. Leads are worth 10 points. You can receive 100 points by bringing in a prospective member application. Points will be awarded when the Membership Department receives the application, and the membership is approved by the Board of Governors. Help make your sports discipline number one. For more information, contact Patti Cundiff at 314-539-4429, or Julie Kueper at 314-539-4408.

The Web, I-phones, hybrid cars – without doubt the influence of science and technology on our lives today is huge. But how do we cut through the cacophony of information when selecting a school for a child or seeking to retrain for a technical job? Our speaker has some answers.
Cynthia Kramer is the founder and visionary behind SCOPE: Science and Citizens Organized for Purpose and Exploration. SCOPE’s statewide mission is to relate the importance of science and technology to parents and teens. The organization engages the public through events and speaking engagements on science and technology; provides information on educational opportunities, scholarships, internships and workforce training; and facilitates collaborative efforts in communities to inter-weave the benefits of science and technology into their region.
