Kentucky Derby Party

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, a new horse and jockey will be decorated with the famous rose garland at this year’s Kentucky Derby. Catch the exciting racing action from the West Clubhouse. West will host a Kentucky Derby party complete with mint juleps, oversized hats and hors d’oeuvres. The party will begin at 3:30 p.m. and the race takes place at 5 p.m. Gentlemen, come dressed in coat and ties. Ladies, don’t forget your big hat. There will be a “Big Hat” Contest with secret judge(s) who will walk through the event and then announce the winner after race. The winner will receive a prize. There will also be trivia and prizes. The cost is $20 per person, which includes hors d’oeuvres, a mint julep, prizes and discounts in the dining room after the race. Call 314-539-4490 for reservations. |

MAC Golf Opener
 Tee off with your fellow members at the MAC Golf Opener sponsored by the MAC Golf Club. Glen Echo Country Club will host the opener on Saturday, May 15. This event is limited to the first 50 players to sign up, so be sure to make your reservations now. The day will begin at 1:30 p.m. The cost to play is $70 per person, which includes 18 holes, cart fee, prizes, food and draft beer at the field bar. All other cocktails are by signature. Family Play Day

Before your family gets sucked in to all of your summer activities, spend a quality day of fun together at the West Clubhouse. On Saturday, May 8, West will have a free family fun day with activities for everyone. Bring your family and guests to the West Clubhouse for Family Play Day. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., you and your family and guests can play games, participate in fitness activities and socialize for FREE! You are encouraged to bring family members, friends and neighbors to enjoy the day at the Club.

Mother's Day Brunch

Sunday, May 9, is a day devoted to all of the moms out there, and boy are they deserving! Mom was always the one to bandage your scraped knees, pack an extra treat in your lunch and support you at all of your extracurricular activities. Show mom just how much she means to you by treating her to a scrumptious brunch at the Downtown Clubhouse. Mother’s Day brunch will feature a buffet decked out with savory entrees, fresh fruits and rich desserts. Family photos will be taken in the Art Lounge by Kent Miller Photography, so come dressed your best. Let mom know she is number one by taking her out for the best brunch in town. Associates Winery Trip
 There is no better place to spend a beautiful spring day than at the winery surrounded by friends. Sunny skies, favorable temperatures and cool glasses of wine will make for a fantastic time. The Associates are sponsoring the MAC Winery Trip on Saturday, May 15. The group will visit Chandler Hill Winery. All members and guests are welcome to attend. The trip is limited to the first 33 participants due to space. The MAC bus will provide transportation to and from the winery. The bus will leave MAC West at 10 a.m. and return no later than 3 p.m. The cost is $15 per person. Feel free to bring your own drinks for the bus ride. Clay Shoot
 The Rod and Gun Club is hosting the first annual Members and Guests Sporting Clays Shoot at Strathalbyn Farms on Saturday, May 8. Everyone is welcome to attend, from inexperienced shooters to hunters and competitive clay shoots. Registration begins at 1 p.m. Practice rounds will be from 1-2 p.m. with the official kick off at 2 p.m. Awards and refreshments will be at 4 p.m. You will enjoy Strathalbyn’s renowned chicken dinner at 5 p.m. The cost is $100, which includes dinner, soft drinks throughout the day, beer and soft drinks after the shooting, awards, 100 sporting clays, targets and instruction if you desire. You are also welcome to come just for dinner or to have your spouse meet you for dinner. The cost for dinner only is $27.50. Summer Sports at West
 School will be out in just a few short weeks. Keep your kids out of your hair and active this summer with sports camps at the MAC. The West Clubhouse offers a variety of camps, clinics and sports instruction. From specialty camps that will allow your child to focus on a particular sport they are interested in to general camp that includes a variety of sports offered at the MAC, your kids will have fun while meeting new friends. A dedicated staff of camp counselors and teaching professionals help campers learn the proper skills and techniques in all areas of activity. The Club’s summer specialty clinics are led by expert instructors who have competed and coached at a high level.
