Five New Governors Elected to Board
On Thursday night, May 6, members of the Missouri Athletic Club elected five new governors to three-year terms on the Board of Governors. Elected were Gordon Bush, Daniel Fusz, Joel Karsten, Christopher Michalak and David Weiss. Bush is the Assessor for St. Clair County.
Fusz is General Manager at Lou Fusz Automotive Network.
Karsten is Sr. Vice President/Partner with Charles L. Crane Agency.
Michalak is a Principal at Moneta. David Weiss is Managing Officer with Weiss and Associates.

Stogie Club Davidoff Cigar Dinner

The Stogie Club will be hosting a Davidoff Cigar Dinner on Wednesday, June 2, in the Art Lounge at the Downtown Clubhouse. Make plans now to attend an evening enjoying all of the finer things in life. Your night will not only include a delicious five-course dinner, but will also feature wine service and cigars provided by Davidoff and Gerard Ezvan of Jon’s Pipe Shop. Father-Daughter Banquet

Dads and daughters will share a special evening together at the annual Father-Daughter Banquet on Wednesday, May 19. The Father-Daughter Banquet has been a Club tradition since 1947. This year’s banquet will again feature carriage rides around town where daughters will feel just like princesses. Carriage ride reservations can be made by calling 314-539-4470. Reservations are required and must be made in advance. Rides are $10 per person. At the end of the evening, each daughter will receive a special picture frame with a photo taken of them with their father. |

Cardinals Dining Specials
 The MAC is your official pre and post-game destination this baseball season. The Jack Buck Grille will feature home game specials throughout the season. The MAC is the perfect place to stop in for a quick and affordable meal before heading to Busch Stadium. The specials will run from 5-9 p.m. each weeknight of home games.

Graduates Brunch
 After the pomp and circumstance, celebrate the graduate with brunch at the West Clubhouse. On Sunday, May 16, the West Clubhouse will host a Graduates Brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fare will include breakfast and brunch items. Toastmasters
 The MAC Toastmasters are proposing the following new program at MAC West, a Youth Leadership Program. The program is an eight-week summer program to help young people build their communication and leadership skills, enabling them to become future leaders in the community, in business and in government. The MAC Toastmasters propose to offer the Youth Leadership Program at the West Club for a one-hour session during the summer of 2010. Ideally, there should be 15 to 25 participants. The minimum participation for the program is five. Age should be 11-15. The sessions of the Youth Leadership Program covers a variety of topics which play a part in good public speaking. English horn n. A double-reed woodwind musical instrument. Woodwind! Then why is it called a horn? Doesn’t matter, the wood-horn makes beautiful music, especially in the hands of Marc Gordon, who was English horn soloist and oboist with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra for 33 years. Retiring from the SLSO in 2005, Marc returned to his native Chicago and performed as horn soloist with the Chicago Symphony until 2008. Prior to his assignment in St. Louis, he held the English horn position with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Today Mr. Gordon is President and Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis. Be certain to come and hear what he can do with the horn that’s not a horn!

Squash Event Come join fellow members on Monday, May 10, at 5:30 p.m. for the official signing of the notes for the new squash court. A model of the new squash court will be on display along with the step by step process from Alastair Pringle. Food and beverages will be available. West Mat Pilates Time Change Mat Pilates is now taught at MAC West on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. Lengthen your muscles as they strengthen. The class works your powerhouse, back, legs and arms. Pilates improves your core strength, flexibility, coordination and muscle control. The cost is $7 per class or $50 for the session.
Race for the Cure Deadline Nears The deadline to join Team MAC in the Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure is Saturday, May 22. Team MAC will take part in the annual race on Saturday, June 12. To sign up to be a part of the MAC team, click here.
Mini Sports Camp for Kids School is almost out for the summer. If you're looking for something for your kids to do, sign them up for the mini sports camp at MAC West. This camp is similar to the regular sports camps, but is only offered for one week. The dates are May 26 - June 4. Click here for a registration form.
