If you have ever dreamed of dining in a quaint French restaurant surrounded by bottles of fabulous French wine, then this summer your dream can become a reality. The West Clubhouse is hosting a French Wine Dinner on Tuesday, July 13. This delicious evening will feature a five-course dinner. Each course will be paired with a different wine featuring the different wine regions of France. The French Wine Dinner is a perfect opportunity to sample new wines while relaxing at the Club. While you won’t exactly be in that French café in Paris, you will experience flavors from the different wine regions. For reservations, call 314-539-4490. |

High School All-Star Soccer
St. Louis is regarded as the soccer capital of the U.S. St. Louis Soccer fans can catch a glimpse of the next generation of stars on Thursday, July 1. The MAC is once again sponsoring the High School Senior All-Star games, featuring the top prep boys and girls soccer players in the St. Louis area. The games will be held at the Anheuser-Busch Center in Fenton with the girl’s game kicking off at 6 p.m., followed by the boy’s game at 8 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at the event: $5 for adults and $3 for students. Parking is $2.

Lobsterfest in the JBG
Bring your appetite to the Jack Buck Grille this summer. Executive Chef Bart Philipps is calling for fresh main lobster at Lobsterfest in the Grille in June and July. If you love lobster, then you can’t miss this delicious dining event, which features lobster prepared in a variety of different ways. This three-course feast is only $40 per person. Lobsterfest in the Jack Buck Grille will be on June 17, 18, 19 & 24, 25, 26 and July 15, 16, 17 & 22, 23, 24. Regular menu items are also available. Associates Poolside Happy Hour
The Associates have been hosting monthly happy hours with fantastic drinks specials all winter long. In June, the party moves poolside at MAC West. Stop by West after work on Thursday, June 24, to enjoy the beautiful weather and start the weekend a little early. Draft beers will be just $1, bottles $2 and well drinks $3. All members are invited and encouraged to bring spouses, dates and guests. The happy hour will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and will end around 8 p.m. No reservations are required. |
Nominations Open for 2011 Charities
The Charitable Society for Children is now taking nominations for the three charities that will be supported by the MAC in 2011. Any money raised throughout the year will be split among the three charities. The deadline for nominations is Sunday, Oct. 31. For a charity to be considered it must be: a local charity, non-denominational, family oriented with an emphasis on service to children and for human welfare. Nominations can be emailed to CSC Chairman Sam Hopmeier at hopmeier@aol.com. Along with the charity name, please provide a one-page fact sheet with information about the charity. Also, please make sure the charity is listed with St. Louis Better Business Bureau in their Charity Review section. On Nov. 11, the charities will be presented to the selection committee at a meeting at MAC West. A member or employee must be present at the meeting for a five-minute presentation on the charity. The final recommendations of charities selected will be given to the Board of Governors for approval. If you have a charity that you work closely with, nominate it today and help the MAC give back to the community. MAC Dive Team Schedule
Did you know that in addition to the swim team the Club has a competitive dive team? The MAC Dive Team kicks off their season on Saturday, June 5. Catch some of the diving action at MAC West. Divers compete in several categories. All are required to a do a front plus between one and three optional dives which can include back, reverse, inward or twist.

experience in Afghanistan. Will Shepherd, a U.S. Marine serving in Afghanistan. He is from St. Louis and will be home on leave during the first part of June. He is a Critical Skills Operator (CSO) in the 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion (MSOB). In layman’s terms, he is a Special Forces Operator.
