Beat the Heat Tennis
By: Kim Steinmetz, Head Tennis Pro
We are in the middle of the summer heat and the prospect of a few hours of tennis, outdoors can be pretty unappealing when you consider the sun, and a heat factor which exceeds 100 degrees. If you brave the outdoors, don’t forget to don the sunscreen, take a jug or two of water with you, be prepared to wet your towel to cool down the nap of your neck, and hopefully the courts you choose will have a shade tree nearby for break periods. An easier way to beat the heat of outdoor tennis, however, is to play indoors! The courts at the Missouri Athletic Club are air conditioned, making the sun, heat, wind and rain non-factors.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 8-14. The cost is $40 per child. Call Jeff Tuhro at 314-539-4485 for reservations. The camp is limited to the first 50 that register. |
